I was just being lazy at home (as always) when I suddenly crave for some churros. Googled churros and found this hidden gem in Umalas. Went there the next few days and boy am I glad I did. The place was the cutest.
This cafe is relatively new, and still pretty much under the radar. Not a lot of my friends know this place, but the ones who do, have nothing but great review for this place. It has such a relaxing ambiance (rice fields, yes please!), with inexpensive but mouthwatering food. Count me in! The location is not really somewhere that you would just randomly pass by because its in a residential area. Oh how much I want to live here just so I can walk here everyday for their churros!
Their food are so inexpensive, especially with a rice field view like this. The price ranges from Rp.25.000 to Rp.45.000. Yes, nothing in their menu is more than Rp.45.000! Love it.
I've always felt that breakfast/brunch food are the most expensive. It's so much easier for me to find lunch/dinner prices under Rp.50.000 rather than brunch food. But the breakfast menu here is probably one of the cheapest I've found, ranging from Rp.30.000 to Rp.45.000. Like their Breakfast Crepe (cheese, ham, tomato and fried eggs) for Rp.30.000 or French Toast with Mixed Fruits for Rp.35.000. Its served from 9am-3pm.
I was in the mood for some rice so I decided to order Tropicana Buddha Bowl (chicken). You have the option to choose chicken wings, chicken breasts or spicy pops. I chose the wings (of course), and it was only for Rp.45.000!
Oh look at that wings! Yum! It comes with fresh garden salad, mixed grain rice and tomato&chilli jam. Simple yet appetising. I also had fresh coconut (Rp.25.000) and there’s no way that I come here and didn’t order any churros! I always go with the classic every time I go to a new place. I had classic churros (Rp.35.000) with chocolate sugar icing and white chocolate dip. Yup you can choose the flavour of sugar icing and dips here. Next time I come here I’ll definitely try their Ice cream churros. Photos of that coming soon!
The place is pretty small with minimal seatings but they have some more on the roof top. If you are planning to chill and appreciate the view, they do have some seatings with sofa and cushions. After today, I expect myself to blog here while munching some churros and appreciating the view. Oh how I love my life in Bali!
To find this little place, head over to Nook but instead of turning left, keep going straight at Umalas 1 for another few minutes and then you'll found this place on the left. Oh I love finding hidden gems like this. Tropicana Cafe, I’ll see you again in a few days!
